Feng Shui: What it isn't
Feng Shui is not:
- a New Age fad – Feng Shui is ancient!
- a religion – you don’t have to believe in any particular god to practice Feng Shui
- superstition – Chinese superstitious beliefs, such as unlucky number 4, have nothing to do with Feng Shui
- magic – Feng Shui doesn’t require rituals or spells
- a fixer of everything – Feng Shui helps you to help yourself
- intuition - using only intuition to apply Feng Shui is very hit and miss
- toads with coins in their mouths or other symbolic objects – Feng Shui is not about making the place look like a Chinese restaurant
- intention – intention is no doubt a powerful thing: “What you think, you create”. Intention is what makes the toad with a coin in its mouth work. It can be used in conjunction with Feng Shui but is not Feng Shui.
- placing a 9-square grid over a floor plan to see where the ‘wealth corner’ is. This is sometimes called Modern or New Age Feng Shui or Black Hat Feng Shui. It is not Traditional Feng Shui and works mainly through intention.
